Please note that dietary nitrates in green leafy veggies and beets begin to work for most people within 3-4 hours of ingesting them.

Smoothies require that you chew. Chewing has been scientifically proven to lower the hormone ghrelin, which stimulates hunger. That means when you check your nutrients you have the added benefit of feeling full longer. Smoothies also leave valuable fiber behind for your body to digest. Fiber helps balance the sugar content of the smoothies. Juices are stripped of the fiber and lead to a quick insulin and blood sugar spike.

For most people, the smoothie serves as a meal substitute. Each recipe makes about two servings. Feel free to share with your person or freeze the remaining smoothie for later. Ideally, you should break your morning fast with your E-Function Smoothie.

You should of course consult your physician first before trying any of them.

These recipes are based on science and experience. The concept of improving flood flow, repairing the lining of the blood vessels, and increasing stamina is an important part of overall health whether we are speaking about men or women.

Everyone is different. This is why it is important to discuss the recipes with the physician who prescribed the medication for you. However, for most men it is safe to do so.

Please buy organic if and when it is available. Non-organic beets have more nitric oxide boosting nitrates than the organic variety.

Yes! Freshly frozen is fine. As a matter fact, if you blend frozen fruit and vegetables, you may not need as much ice. When you buy fruit and veggies and you know they aren’t getting used, stick them in a freezer safe container, and freeze them for your smoothies.

Nitric OxideMega Boost Formula

Most frequent questions and answers

Erectile dysfunction can be an early warning sign of heart problems because erectile problems are usually caused by atherosclerosis -hardening and stiffening of the arteries that leads to reduced blood flow.

Nitric oxide support is designed to Support blood circulation, remove elevated levels of nitric oxide production, and may provide enhance blood to the erectile tissue.

Nitric Oxide Supports overall health because it:

Maintains blood pressure levels

Supports the body’s blood vessel system

AIDS in the relaxation of blood vessels

Maintains a healthy immune system

Assists in the delivery of blood and nutrients to vital organs within the body

You should always consult your physician or healthcare professional before you make any decisions about taking anything. You should proceed with caution if you are considering taking it alongside any popular erection medication because you may see a decrease in blood pressure.

Oftentimes prescription ED medications and gas station pills stop working. This may be because they can only work if there is an adequate supply of nitric oxide present.

Sometimes doctors will recommend that you take nitric oxide support along with other prescribed erectile dysfunction medications. Those same prescription medicines sometimes do not work if your body cannot produce adequate levels of nitric oxide. This nitric oxide support supplement, can help your body produce more nitric oxide, so those prescription medications may start back working.

These pills cannot work if nitric oxide hasn’t been produced by your body in a big enough quantity. These pills require nitric oxide to be present. They also will lose effectiveness overtime if the penile tissue becomes weak and fibrotic. Fibrotic erectile tissue is hard and has a difficult time expanding. Since erections happen with the expansion of blood vessels and tissue, when the tissue can no longer expand, erections suffer. So one of the first steps in completing an erection tuneup is to help improve the quality of the fibrotic tissue.

The next reason that the medication may have potentially stopped working is that the body overtime stops producing nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is essential medication like Cialis and Viagra are to work. Without adequate levels of nitric oxide on board, and erection cannot be made.

Another Reason why medications may have stopped working for you, is because you may have stress related to erections. Stress activates the sympathetic nervous system, which in fact turns off the erection. So that is why it is important to manage stress and learn how to relax in all sexual situations.

Nitric oxide production decreases as you age, and people who have any type of chronic disease like hypertension, diabetes, pre-diabetes, autoimmune disorders, blood disorders, or metabolic syndrome are thought to also produce lower levels of nitric oxide. Low nitric oxide levels means that blood flow to various parts of the body are diminished.

•   Can help improve overall health

What about using L-arginine to boost nitric oxide production? I

Many popular nitric oxide boosters use L-Arginine as a way to boost nitric oxide production.

Taking L-arginine can be useful for some in the short term, but can actually become harmful in the long term. Within the body it is a precursor to the formation of nitric oxide. Your body takes l-arginine and using something called NOS (nitric oxide synthase), it creates nitric oxide. If NOS doesn’t work or is what we call uncoupled, it will not work. Nitric oxide production will be impaired.

Although some people take it as a supplement, L-arginine is actually made within your body from glutamine, glutamate, and proline, and it is also found in many protein rich foods. The problem with supplementing or taking daily products with high levels of L-arginine is that the body doesn’t know what to do with all of that l-arginine.

When the system is flooded with l-arginine, it can hang around and instead of being used by NOS (nitric oxide synthase) to make more nitric oxide. Instead of being useful, it is transformed through methylation and ultimately becomes ADMA (Asymmetric Dimethylarginine).

ADMA actually blocks the activity of NOS (nitric oxide synthase) that is necessary for the production of nitric oxide. With NOS blocked or uncoupled, this can become a toxic situation for your body.

There is actually a strong relationship between high levels of ADMA and major cardiac events like heart attack.

This is why I do not recommend that l-arginine based supplements are taken long term. As you age, the amount of functional NOS is already low. Lowering the NOS even further by taking too much l-arginine could become catastrophic.

Inorganic nitrates like the ones found in the fruit and vegetables within my E-Function Smoothie Recipes, as well as the kind found in nitrate based supplements can help reactivate or couple NOS so that it can start back making more nitric oxide.

This is always a tough concept because when you hear organic, you think veggies, but in this case, it is the opposite. Inorganic nitrates are the kind found in fruit and veggies, and organic nitrates are the kind found in medicine.

Organic nitrates, like nitroglycerin, isosorbide, PETN, are nitrate esters. These have been used in medicine for high blood pressure. Nitrates in leafy greens (like spinach), Berkeley Life, and other nitrate based supplements are inorganic nitrates.

So while the term “inorganic” makes it sound artificial, these inorganic nitrates are the ones that are safe for most people to add to their diet or supplement regimen, when dosed at appropriate levels.

Even though they can both help produce more nitric oxide within the body, organic and inorganic nitrates are used differently within the body.

Organic nitrates like nitroglycerin, are bioactivated in the mitochondria by aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALD2) using its esterase activity. In addition to the increased NO, it can lead to increased superoxide production and tolerance to organic nitrate over time.

Inorganic nitrates in food and Berkeley Life must first be absorbed into the blood stream, concentrated in the salivary glands and then reduced to nitrite by anaerobic bacteria on the dorsal aspect of the tongue. This is then reduced further to NO in the stomach and other tissues in the body, without the concern of superoxide production or tolerance formation.

Potassium nitrate has multiple uses, including long-time use as an additive for food. It has a long safety record in human consumption – and is not on California’s Prop 65 list of potentially harmful compounds, which is widely known for it’s stringent safety standards.

[ Source: Tanja Sobko, Claude Marcus, Mirco Govoni, Shigeru Kamiya. “Dietary nitrate in Japanese traditional foods lowers diastolic blood pressure in healthy volunteers.” Nitric Oxide Volume 22, Issue 2, Pages 136-140]

Uses of potassium nitrate for gardening or farming leverages potassium nitrate in water at 226,796mg of per use or 724 times the dosage from two capsules of Berkeley Life. For comparison, a fatal dose of bananas, if someone were able to consume it, would be around 400 bananas.

A study from the 1970’s spurred a still-pervasive misconception that nitrate intake presents a cancer-concern.

Two reasons to be critical of this – to begin, the study was done on red meat and cured meats – both of which contain very little nitrate. The cancer risk here likely has more to do with the consistent consumption of red and cured meats.

Secondly, most consumed nitrates come from leafy green vegetables, which would suggest there should be a much higher rate of cancer in vegans and vegetarians if nitrates were cancer–causing.

Prostate Massagers

Most frequent questions and answers

This device is not rechargeable. You can very quickly change the batteries if it begins to lose its’ power. The massage is shipped with two AA batteries.

By integrating an external prostatic massage into your self-care routine may help you improve the health of your prostate, the strength of your ejaculation, and the stiffness of your erection. External prostate massage is  intended to send sonic vibrations to penetrate through to the bottom of the prostate.

Prostatic massage should not be done if you have an active infection, pain, or prostate cancer because it may make things worse. Before you get started, you should consult with your physician to make sure that prostate massage is right for you . . . because it may not be.

-Before using this product, consult a medical professional to make sure that prostate massage is suitable for you.

-DO NOT USE if you have prostate cancer or pain in your prostate

  • It increases nutrient-rich and oxygenated blood flow to the prostate
  • It flushes toxins and releases stagnant fluids
  • Decreases fibrosis or stiffness
  • Stimulates the nerves and blood flow responsible for erection

For external massage the prostate is located halfway between the testicles and the anus. The prostate can be located internally 2.5 inches inside the rectum with the finger or massager facing towards the stomach.

Once the massager is in place, twist the end to turn on vibration mode. Leave it in that position and location for 3-5 minutes. After three minutes move the massager 1/2 an inch forward and let it run for another 3-5min. Next, move it backwards and inch and let it run for an additional 3-5min. Once completed, remove the massager and wash with soap under running water. *Do not submerge in water

Everyone is different. You have to pay attention to your body and how you feel. If you experience pain, then you should stop and immediately consult your physician. Experiment with timing and frequency until you find a rhythm that works for you.

Prostate massagers are not medical devices, so law requires us to state: A) The FDA has not evaluated the health claims of prostate massage; B) This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, because only a drug or medical device can legally make this claim.

Your prostate is a walnut-sized gland located at the base of the bladder, between your bladder and your penis, just in front of the rectum. I like to think of it as the base of the penis. The urethra (the tube that urine and semen travel through) passes from the bladder, through the center of the prostate, then through the penis and ends at the tip of the penis.

I think it is easy to minimize the importance of the prostate. However, the prostate gland is directly involved in the sexual response cycle in men. I want to make that 100% clear. It is indirectly involved in erection, and it is directly involved in the process of ejaculation.

*PROTECTOR OF SPERM: The prostate secretes pre-cum and a fluid that protects sperm.

*POWER SWITCH FOR EJACULATE TO BE CREATED: The prostate houses nerve fibers that stimulate the seminal vesicles to produce seminal fluid (seminal fluid is the primary component of ejaculate), right before ejaculation.

*HOUSES ERECTION STARTER NERVES: Because of the prostate’s special location at the base of the penis, the nerves that control the penis stiffness, the cavernous nerves, run through and behind the prostate. These nerves signal the erectile tissue to stiffen and produce an erection. If these nerves are damaged or stretched because of prostatic enlargement (BPH), sexual function will suffer.

*EJACULATE SLING SHOT: The rubber band-like properties give the prostate power to propel or pump ejaculate fluid into the urethra during ejaculation.

*CREATES A POWERFUL FORM OF TESTOSTERONE: The prostate gland uses an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase to convert testosterone into its more powerful form: dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Now, DHT is ten times more powerful than regular testosterone, and it is important for building muscle and for a strong sex drive.

*TOXIN FILTER: The prostate also acts to filter out toxins with a duty to protect the sperm. As men encounter more and more toxins, it becomes increasingly difficult for the prostate to do its job. Toxins can accumulate and create disease of the prostate.

*KEEPS URINE FROM LEAKING OUT: The prostate wraps around the upper part of the urine tube (the urethra). This part of the urethra is known as the prostatic urethra. It is the job of the prostate, using tiny muscles called sphincters, to make sure that urine doesn’t leak out of the bladder unless you want it to. It also makes sure that during ejaculation, no urine is released.

Stimulation of the prostate through massage has been theorized to:

Help drain occluded ejaculatory ducts that have filled up over the years

Decrease fibrosis (stiffness)

Improve the flow of nutrient-rich blood to the prostate

Stimulate the nerves and blood vessels (neurovascular bundle) that are responsible for an erection

Remove stagnant fluids and potentially flush out built-up toxins

Taoist philosophers and tantric teachers use prostate massage to maintain and promote extreme sexual conditioning. Some ancient rulers and elites received regular prostate massages from their staff to keep their stamina and erections in tip-top shape.

Prostate massagers are not medical devices, so law requires me to state:

A) The FDA has not evaluated the health claims of prostate massage;

B) This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, because only a drug or medical device can legally make this claim.

It is important that before you initiate prostate massage, that you speak with your healthcare provider first. After he or she has signed off on the process, it is important to note that everyone is different.

The first week, your massage should be five minutes. This gives your body the chance to adjust to the new sensation. Your goal should be to work up to a 20min massage.

For example, some people may initiate a prostate massage and have some discomfort, others may not. For a typical individual I recommend that the first session only last about five minutes just to get used to the new sensation. After someone has gotten used to the prostate massage, I recommend that sessions last anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, and that they take place anywhere between 2 to 3 times a week initially, and then once a health care regimen has been established, prostate massage can be completed once a month for maintenance.

You should always ask your physician to make sure the prostate massage is right for you and that you were doing no harm in the process. However, for most individuals I recommend prostate massage 2 times a week initially for 3 to 4 weeks and then a maintenance program of once a month.

Men with active and painful hemorrhoids should not engage in prostate massage because an internal prostate massage can worsen the situation. Also if you have a known in active prostate cancer, prostate massage should not be completed as it can potentially seed or spread the cancer outside of the prostate. If you have active and painful prostatitis in an acute phase, you should also not engage in prostate massage as it could worsen things. As always, please consult your physician before you embark on prostatic massage.

Actually, I do believe that the best combination is to use both internal and external prostate massage. Whether you purchase an internal prostate massager or an external prostate massager, both can double as either an internal or external massage device.

Is however you have active hemorrhoids or are scared of worsening your hemorrhoids, if you have some level of hesitation to do an internal massage, you can always start with an external prostate massage. You have to start where you are comfortable.

For internal massage, lubricant is a must-have. For external prostate massage it is not necessary, but it can be useful. Although silicon based lubricant will make an internal massage glide easier, it is messy. I recommend that you use a water-based lubricant. A quality brand is Sliquid and their product is available through Amazon. Their water-based lubricant is called Sliquid Naturals. They also make a hybrid version that is part silicon and part water based called Sliquid Silk. - Either of these are great products.

Even if you are doing an external massage, lubricant should be used because it can help transmit vibrations through the tissue.

As a man ages, the prostate typically grows, and for men in their 70s and beyond, it can reach the size of a plum. An estimated 50% of men between the ages of 50 and 60 have BPH, and the percentage jumps 10% in each decade of life. By the age of 80, 80% of men will have an enlarged prostate. And as the prostate swells, the swelling acts to almost block or close off the part of the urethra (urine tube) that travels through the prostate, causing urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH).

When the prostate is enlarged or damaged, these sphincters or valves can become damaged, and urine will leak out. Strengthening the pelvic floor will help tremendously. Prostate exercises and massage can help retrain these valves.

The prostate houses the semen and then makes a coordinated contraction that forces semen out during ejaculation. Think of the prostate as the rubber band on a slingshot. Without the rubber band working, the slingshot will not work. The muscles and fibrous tissue of the prostate are extremely important in this process of propelling the fluid.

You can also think of the prostate as a ball of soft clay with three flexible pipes running through it. These pipes represent the two ejaculatory ducts and the urethra (the tube that urine and ejaculate flow through). These ducts are situated within the prostate, and they can get blocked over time, and as the prostate gets larger, these ducts can become compressed. Imagine squeezing a ball of soft clay; the tubes within will clamp down as well, and the fluid will not flow readily through them anymore. Like the ball of clay, when the cells of the prostate swell, the tissue clamps down on the ducts and makes it hard for fluids like urine and ejaculate to easily pass through. That is why men begin to notice urinary symptoms and ejaculate symptoms as the prostate grows in size.

How do I know if I have an enlarged prostate?

  • Urinary Symptoms - The enlarged prostate leads to a closing off of the prostatic urethra (the tube that urine passes through when you urinate). This can lead to any of the following
  • Decreased or slow urine stream
  • Trouble emptying the bladder completely
  • Dribbling before or after urination
  • Pain before or after urination
  • Multiple trips to the bathroom at night
  • The need to push the urine out or push to get the stream started
  • Urine being trapped in the bladder, which causes lower abdominal pain (pain and tenderness right above your pubic bone)
  • Multiple urinary tract or kidney infections that can show up as back pain or even confusion
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Anejaculation - trouble with ejaculation
  • Sludge - clogged ducts (ejaculatory and prostatic ducts)
  • Decreased ejaculate
  • Pain

When the prostate is enlarged, it will squeeze the urine tube (prostatic urethra) and the valves or sphincters within the prostate that control urine flow. This makes it difficult to urinate and creates a mix of uncontrollable urinary symptoms.

Oddly enough, one of the common side effects of one of the most popular medications for prostate enlargement is erectile dysfunction.

How does an enlarged prostate lead to E.D.?

An Enlarged Prostate Leads to:

Erectile Dysfunction – It puts pressure on the cavernosal nerves that need to be active to get an erection.

Urinary Symptoms - A swollen and enlarged prostate clamps down and pinches the urethra closed (the tube that carries urine). Which can lead to:

Urgency (Rushing to urinate)

Incontinence (Trouble holding your urine)

Weakened urine stream

Nocturia (getting up at night to urinate multiple times)

Blocked Ejaculatory Ducts – When the ducts are stopped up, there is a sludge of fluid instead of a smooth flow.

Loss of Elastic Tissue or Fibrosis – The prostate loses the ability to propel ejaculate because it stiffens up. It can no longer perform properly because it loses elasticity.

Although prostatic massage hasn’t been studied in a major way, there is a scientific theory as to why prostate massage may help with:

Erectile Dysfunction

Prostate enlargement

Nocturia (nighttime urination)

Does a prostate massage hurt?

Prostate massage does not have to be painful. If you experience pain while initiating a prostate massage, you should stop and immediately reach out to your health care provider.

What does it mean to have an enlarged prostate?

There are three types of prostate massage. 1) suprapubic massage approaches the prostate gland from above, 2) internal prostate massage approaches the prostate from the posterior aspect, and the external massage approaches the prostate from beneath the gland. Since the prostate is a 3 dimensional abject, the most complete version of prostatic massage is to massage it from all three location. However, I have seen benefit from each type of massage individually.

Can these prostate massagers also be used for pleasure purposes?

Although I spend a lot of time discussing the potential health benefit associated with prostate massage, the prostate massage can also be used to provide pleasure. The prostate gland is considered the g-shot for men.

No. Prostate cancer is a contraindication to prostate massage. If you have an active prostate massage, you should not do prostate massage. Please consult your physician before initiating prostate massage.

Consult your physician first. But if he or she gives you the go-ahead, there is no reason why you can not do prostate massage while taking prostate medication.

Her expertise as a sexologist has allowed her to have financial flexibility and it has opened up opportunities for her that wouldn’t have existed. She envisioned an institute that trains members of the community to do the exact same. The Dr. Rachael Institute has students scattered throughout the world, trained to transform lives, help keep families together, build positive sexuality, positive relationships, and ultimately to secure financial freedom for sexuality coaches and their families.

When you complete the coursework and all of the associated assignments, you will receive your graduate certificate and will be trained as a Certified Clinical Sexuality Coach, a Certified Sexpert, or both. The Dr. Rachael Institute has been accredited by The American College of Sexologist, and graduates of our program are immediately eligible for certification through The American Academy of Sexologists as a certified sexologist.

This is our most comprehensive certification course, and it combines all of the components of the other two certification course: Certified Sexpert Course and The Certified Love Expert Course. The comprehensive course qualifies for 300 CEs for The American College of Sexology.

To become a Certified Clinical Sexuality Coach it takes an average student 3-4 months to complete. We have seen students go through the program in as quickly as six weeks, but each of these students had a large amount of free-time and they were dedicated to finishing up quickly. The course is self-paced, and it uses a state of the art online system that is accessible through your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
There are eight quizzes, written and video homework assignments, and one final exam. As a board certified family medicine doctor, Dr. Rachael designed the course to combine physical health, mental health, and social health all in one place.
By the time you complete the course, you are prepared to either enhance your own relationships with the information, and/or to step out of your box and set up shop and launch your career as a sexuality coach.

If you want to upgrade to the Certified Clinical Sexuality Coach Program at any time during or after your Love Expert Certification or Sexpert Certification, you can apply the amount you have already paid towards the new certification by e-mailing us at info@drrachaelinstitute.com. We will invoice you for the difference in payment.

We are currently working to develop in person training that would be offered 2-3 times a year. Please email us at info@drrachaelinstitute.com for more information.
However, at the present time, we offer online/on demand learning with LIVE video office hours once a month with Dr. Rachael, so that you can get all of your questions answered, and connect with other students through a LIVE environment.

Upon graduation from The Dr. Rachael Institute, you will receive a gorgeous gold detailed and hand signed certificate. Our Certified Clinical Sexuality Coach Program has been approved by the American College of Sexologists towards international recognition as a Certified Sexologist and by the American Board of Sexology as a Certified Sexuality Coach.
However, our certification programs typically do not count towards academic degrees from state accredited universities and colleges.

Sexuality Coaching is a combination of Sex Coaching, Life Coaching, and Nutrition Coaching, and is a growing career choice today. As a Sexuality Coach you can start a rewarding career where you can coach others to realize their full intimate potential, find their soul mates, have more fulfilled sex, enjoy everlasting love.

Certified Clinical Sexuality Coaching requires The Dr. Rachael Institute certification. Graduates may work alongside a therapist, may periodically refer to therapists, and are oftentimes already therapists when they enroll into our program.
However, Clinical Sexuality Coaching is not therapy.

Therapists may invest up to $100,000 and then pay for continuing education courses to maintain their license. They also may invest 5-10 years depending on the route they take.
Clinical Sexuality Coaching graduates of The Dr. Rachael Institute pay much less and receive a comprehensive training that spans through anatomy and physiology, coaching principles, sex, sexuality, relationships, and nutrition. Our graduates are able to start their own lucrative career while paying much less and while attending less schooling.

You can launch a business as a Certified Clinical Sexuality Coach / Love Coach/ Intimacy Coach.
